Board Members Info

All of the Board Members have a great passion for the part they play in running of the YoUFA Board, they have lots of experience to share with each other and provide a great platform for each other to grow and develop within their roles and as indivduals. Each and every member loves UFA and has had their own personal journey to get to where they are now. It all began in 2006 when UFA launched its first targeting residential to make UFA better and for young people to have more fun and learn more.

Kyle Smith

Kyle Smith

Kyle is based in Birmingham and has been with the UFA since 2005; he enjoys taking more of a leadership role in the YoUFA Board and will often keep things moving at a swift pace. He also likes to get stuck into all the creative decisions that the board makes. Kyle will oversee all the fundraising aspects around YoUFA and is an active member of the YoUFA network. ‘It is great to be a member of the YoUFA Board and have an active voice in the UFA and voice the views of the other young people in the network.’

Ebony Harding

Ebony first started her journey with the UFA in May 2008 when she was given the opportunity to become a Lead Learner in her school. Then in June 2009 after a successful application Ebony was given the opportunity to become a YoUFA Rep and is now a member of the YoUFA Board and oversees all the marketing aspects around YoUFA. ‘I decided to apply because I wanted to continue my journey with the UFA, I vision the YoUFA Board as being the key link between the UFA and young people all around the country’ Ebony is the active one of the group who keeps everyone on their toes!

Shireenah Ingram

Shireenah Ingram

Shireenah is based in Birmingham and is the Chair of the YoUFA Board she is one of the liveliest members on the YoUFA Board, giving energy only Shireenah can provide. Shireenah is an organiser and likes to keep things tidy and ensure all things are going well. She has a very strong skill in the way of overlooking everything that is going on. ‘It is fantastic to be the Chair of the YoUFA Board and I am looking forward to what lies ahead. We hope young people will join the YoUFA network and we want to hear stories of what they are up to or what changes they would like to see, so please get in touch!’

Seren Garner

Seren is based in Derbyshire and is the secetary for the Board making sure everyone keeps in contact and keeping up with all the developments of the Board. Seren’s journey with the UFA began when she trained as a Peer Tutor in Year 6 and has been a YoUFA Rep for 2 years. ‘It is great to be on the YoUFA Board because I think it is such a wonderful opportunity for young people to show their indivdual brillliance and independence, I am really excited to be on the Board.’

Bobbie Berrow

Bobbie is based in Birmingham, she likes to sing, and dance through most times, this is perfect for a group of people. Bobbie is a person that always has a smile on her face. Bobbi is the Vice Chair of the YoUFA Board and will work closely with Shireenah. Bobbi has been part of the UFA for over 7 years starting from a participant at Summer Challenges then as a peer tutor and now also as a YoUFA Rep. If you ever meet her, make sure you get the chance to be part of one of her energisers, they are some of the best in the UFA! ‘ I am the crazy one of the group! and I am thrilled to be on the Board and excited to know what’s coming and putting all our ideas and plans into action and working with everyone else.’

Inez Sarkodee – Adoo

Inez started her journey with the UFA as a Lead Learner and since then progressed to a YoUFA Rep and is now a YoUFA Board Member. Inez is the spokesperson for the Board and represents the Board where she can. She recently spoke about her experiences and represented the UFA at the NCVYS Young Partners Award. ‘I wanted to join the Board because I felt it would be both a wonderful test of my strengths and interesting challenge. I feel privelaged to be a part of the Board and feel the future is bright and adventorous’

Kim Davies

Kim is based in Norwich and works together with Seren to take minutes at each Board meeting and circulate relevant paperwork and keep in contact with everyone. Kim started her journey with the UFA as a Lead Learner and is now also a YoUFA Rep. Kim makes sure that everyone is looked after. ‘I am really excited to be on the first ever YoUFA Board because it is a new and unique opportunity and I feel it will be a great learning experience.’
